The City of Ottawa’s Building Code Services has directed the developer to provide engineering report(s). We are awaiting the outcome.
An HVAC guy checked our AC unit. We are having issues with debris, notably when they used a Rock Thrower. They suggested we cover the unit as there could be more debris in the future.
They came and installed something called a crack monitor. It’s basically a tool that is supposed to allow them to see if the cracks are increasing and the house is still moving. We will have a visit once a week from now on to monitor this.
We had a visit recently from the developer and their structural and geotechnical engineers. They reviewed the entire home. They assured us the home was safe. The developer’s project manager came by afterwards and told us that they would take care of all the fixes to make it right. We are relieved they have said they would do so.
Reached out to some neighbours today to see if anyone else is experiencing some issues. Some of them said they have. We want some answers as to what the heck is going on.
We had a building inspector from the City of Ottawa yesterday. Since they have started the drilling underneath our homes we have been noticing a lot of cracks everywhere. We are concerned. So we called the city up and the news isn’t good. He noticed that our floors are also tilting in certain areas. WHAT!? The house is moving? He said we were safe but to call if there was any sudden movement. We will get the developer in to check it out as well.
The Condo developer had a crew come in to re-enforce our carport. These are some after pics of the work they did. Apparently the snow drift from the building next door could add weight to the carport/deck. Thanks to the developer for doing this work! I’m impressed that they had the foresight to think of this.
